Hi there! I'm Stef (she/they).
Therapy is a partnership and collaboration is vital. I'm here to hold space for you as you explore your needs and what paths you would like to take in your life. I like to take a relaxed and conversational approach to the therapeutic process, fostering genuine interaction and support. My goal is to empower individuals in achieving their fullest potential by providing an environment where they can feel heard and understood, and where they can work towards personal growth, self-awareness, and healing.

I like to use a number of approaches that include interpersonal therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS; "parts work") and polyvagal theory. I mostly enjoy utilizing techniques based upon the individual needs of the client rather than following only one approach.

Therapy doesn’t have to be all serious, all the time! I believe that laughter can be a powerful tool for healing. By incorporating humor into our sessions, we can create a sense of safety, connection, and trust—key elements in a polyvagal-informed approach to therapy. Gentle humor helps regulate the nervous system, ease tension, and make the therapeutic space feel more welcoming and authentic.

In a polyvagal context, feeling safe and connected is essential for growth and healing. A shared laugh can activate the social engagement system, signaling to the brain and body that you’re in a secure and supportive environment. This makes it easier to explore difficult topics, process emotions, and build resilience.

Therapy is about being real, and sometimes, a well-timed joke or lighthearted moment can remind us that even in the midst of challenges, there’s space for joy and connection. So, expect a compassionate, understanding space—where healing happens, and yes, sometimes, we even laugh along the way.
